Title                    : Lexical Semantics by Kent Johnson's
The Author         : Kent Johnson's general areas of research concern the philosophies of linguistics       physcology, and science. He received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Rutgers University. He is         currently associate Professor in the Department of Logic and Philosophy of Science at the University of California . His articles on these topics have appread in such journals and Mind and Language . Linguistics and Philosophy , and many more .
Number Of Page : 16 pages

2. Background

Purpose                : This articles reviews some linguistics and philosophical work in lexical semantics. 1. The general methods of lexical semantics are explored , with particular attention to how semantics features of verb are associated with grammatical patterns. 2. Philosophical consequences and issues arising from this sort of research is reviewed.

3. Content

There are many unresolved issues concerning which generalizations hold only for some languages. Which hold for all human languages and why this happen . The type of evidence this article have reviewed only supports the claim that there is a strong association between certain ( roughly ' syntatic' ) properties of verb , and certain other ( roughly 'semantic' ) properties . The available doesn't force the article that there really are to even if there are two such classes . Similarly if the relevant semantic properties the article have investigated are considered solely in terms of phsycological role . then there may be no interesting difference between these semantic and syntatic properties at all .

4. Strengthness and Weakness

Strengthness : This article mention all about lexical semantics altough only a little bit but made we know about what is Lexical semantic.

Weakness      : This article not mention what is the meaning of Lexical Semantic deeply.

5. Conclusion

In this article considered types of semantic structures that linguists often posit within words . the evidence used to justify these posits . and some of the philosopical consequences of this enterprise .

You may know a language, but you may also choose to not speak it. Although you are not speaking the language, you still have the knowledge of it. However, if you don’t know a language, you cannot speak it at all. Here , I will explain to you all about some branches in lin...
